When we found out...

About a month after being married Zac and I moved to Fayetteville, AR and were staying with our friends Justin and Anna for a couple of weeks. About a week after arriving in Arkansas I started feeling really weird physically. At first I thought that maybe it was because I was tired from the driving and sleeping on a futon bed for a week. I mentioned to Zac that I wanted to buy a pregnancy test just to make sure if I was pregnant. He told me the same thing that I thought at first, I was just tired from the travel and sleeping arrangements. We were broke from our moving out from Cheyenne the week before and Zac was very hesitant to just go out and spend frivolously on something that may not be anything. I told Zac that I really wanted to check it out and that I can just do a cheap test and eventually he accepted and allowed me to go and grab some tests. I came home and immediately went into the bathroom to pee on a stick. :) And it came back POSITIVE!! I came out of the bathroom and couldnt keep my face straight. I was so excited that I was pregnant! One look at my face and Zac knew that the test read positive. I handed him the test and he let out a deep breath. He handed the test to Justin and said "the lines are very faint so that means that it isn't real." Justin looked up at him from the couch and said "Dude, she's pregnant. That's exactly what Anna's looked like when she took her first test." Zac was not very accepting of this at first. I think it took him about 15 min or so to actually say that the stick read positive. lol ... He then got more excited then I was. I think he was more accepting of me being pregnant then I was for the first few days. I went to the get a test done at planned parenthood for authentification for getting Medicaid. (I DO NOT like to support Planned Parenthood but we were desperate to get started and didn't have funds to get do so.) I was tested and told that I was 5 weeks pregnant and my due date was February 1st 2014. Zac and I were so excited to have the confirmation and made it all seem real. We live right around the corner from the hospital and decided to go to the HerHealth Center for my first ultrasound. I was assigned to Dr. Mary Hardman. I went in on July 15th, 2013. I was 11 weeks pregnant and had our first ultrasound. We were able to hear the heartbeat at this visit.
Our little peanut at 11 weeks. Heartbeat was 167 at this time.

Wedding Day!!

So as a preclaimer, I am very, very new at this whole blogging thing. I have been wanting to make a blog of mine and Zac's story for forever and finally have a chance to do so.

Zac and I got married on a beautiful April day in Fruit Heights Utah on the 19th in 2013. It was a crazy week prior to the wedding. Zac and I had just gone to see the bishop on the Sunday before the wedding and he said that there was a nasty storm that was coming that night and that we should consider leaving sooner then we were planning. We immediately went home that night and started packing up the car and headed out to the I-80. Once we were at the mouth of the freeway we noticed that the road was closed due to the weather up in the canyon in Laramie, WY. We were told that there was a lot of accidents due to the ice that was on the road there. I ended up having a really bad emotional breakdown. I started feeling like we were not going to be able to get out of town at all due to the road being closed and Zac didn't want to take the alternate road through Colorado cause it would have been about 3 or so hours longer of a drive. We went home and started looking up alternate routes, during which I continued to break down cause I was feeling like my whole world was falling apart. (I am a bit dramatic, I KNOW) Finally, at around 11:30 pm we were back on the road and headed through Colorado on the 276. At that point Zac was probably thinking that he wanted to just stop my whining and crying so he took the route that was suggested at the beginning of the afternoon... lol... We drove all night and ended up in Evanston, WY around 5 am. My Cousin Bobby was so great and allowed us to stay the night with him and his family unexpectedly. In the end we were able to get out of Cheyenne. However Zac's family was not so lucky. About 3 hours after we took the 276 through Colorado to Laramie they closed the road. Once in Utah, Zac and I started freaking out that we were going to have to push the wedding back a day or so. The wedding was on Friday and his family was not able to get out of Cheyenne until about Thursday evening. I was really stressing a lot!! Zac's parents, Ray and Donelle and Taki, Aubri and Soni all arrived Thursday afternoon relieving some of my stress and anxiety. My family arrived days before and I was able to have my mom and my aunt Patti come with me Wednesday to get my bridal photos done. I really enjoyed doing that. It was a few hours that I didn't focus on family not getting there in time or other wedding stresses. And my photographer was just incredible. She really made me feel like I was the most important person there. But seriously it was the coldest afternoon and I was freezing during all the shots. My arms were purple and all I could remember was shivering and not being able to feel my hands. But it turned out being a really wonderful experience.

Friday morning I had a wonderful time getting ready and spending time with my bridesmaids and Matron of Honor. Aubri did my hair for the wedding while all the other girls got ready as well. The wedding was planned to start at 2 pm and I wasn't even ready to go until about 2:30 pm. The moment that I walked down the aisle was the most amazing moment. My eyes met Zac's and there was nothing else that mattered anymore. I didn't care about anything that could have gone wrong or did go wrong that day. All that mattered was that I was walking down to marry the man of my dreams. My Mission president married us and made it all such a wonderful experience for us.

It has been almost 8 months since we were married and we are so excited for our anniversary on April 19th, 2014. This is the day that we have been looking forward to for over a year. We will be sealed for time and all eternity in the Kansas City, Temple as husband and wife. But the most precious of all is that we will be able to bring our soon to be son to the temple to be sealed with us across the alter. He will be about two months old by the time we are able to be sealed. Zac and I are so blessed to have this experience. It was not at all how we envisioned ourselves in the beginning but I will not change it for the world. I am now married to a wonderful man that is caring and loving and has such a kind heart and treats me like I am his number one. I could not ask for more.
